Joël Robuchon nasceu em Poitiers, França, em 1945 e começou seu aprendizado no restaurante de um hotel quando tinha 15 anos de idade. Em 1981, ele abriu seu próprio restaurante em Paris, Jamin, que ganhou três estrelas no guia Michelin em 1984. Uma das ascensões mais rápidas da história do guia. Nomeado "Chef do Século" e 1989 por Gault Millau, ele fechou o Jamin em 1996 para explorar novos territórios. Ele agora trabalha como consultor e gerencia os restaurantes L'Atelier ao redor do mundo onde conseguiu o maior número de estrelas do Guia Michelin já alcançado por um chef.

Even better than the renovated original Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. I love the big round bath tubs. Their set of toileterie products is the best I have found in any hotel. It is my favorite hotel in Hong Kong.

Bathrooms are critical to my appreciation of a hotel. I love the rain showers at Hotel Metropole. They are becoming more common in hotel bathrooms nowadays, but the range is wide in terms of performance. Theirs are at the top.

Their understated modern vibe is a subtle thing to capture. I feel inspired in The Soho Hotel - a great illustration of British talent.

Bangkok, Tailândia
The obvious classic. There are so many great hotels in Bangkok. The Oriental may not be the most up-to-date. So, it must be purely emotional.
